Unofficial LineageOS 17.1 is now available for the Samsung Galaxy S10 Lite

Samsung entered the affordable flagship segment earlier this year with the launch of the Galaxy S10 Lite and Galaxy Note 10 Lite. Since the launch, Samsung has regularly pushed software updates for both the devices, with the Galaxy S10 Lite receiving the company’s latest One UI 2.5 update earlier this month. But while Samsung is doing a great job of pushing software updates for the device, the company’s One UI Android skin isn’t everyone’s cup of tea. If you’re one of the many Galaxy S10 Lite users who aren’t satisfied with Samsung’s software, you’d be glad to know that you can now install LineageOS 17.1 on the device.

XDA Senior Member Vaughnn has released an unofficial build of LineageOS 17.1 for the Galaxy S10 Lite based on Android 10, and it offers a near-stock Android experience for the device. If you’re interested in trying out the ROM, you can download the flashable .zip file from the forum thread linked below. Before you go ahead and flash the ROM, however, you’ll need to unlock your device’s bootloader and install the Lineage custom recovery from this link.

Once you have the recovery installed, you can format your device and then flash the unofficial LineageOS 17.1 build. If you wish to root your device, you can then flash Magisk after a reboot. It’s worth noting that the ROM doesn’t come with Google apps built-in, so you’ll also have to flash a Gapps package in a similar manner. Since this is an early build of LineageOS 17.1 for the device, it might not be stable enough to run on your daily driver. In case you encounter any bugs, you can report them by following the instructions given in the forum thread.
