Google’s Pixel 5 event will take place on Wednesday, September 30, at 11:00 AM PST. In an invite sent to press on Monday, the company said it would unveil a new Chromecast, smart speaker, and Pixel phones, the latter of which Google teased in August.
The most anticipated announcement will be the Google Pixel 5, which recently popped up in the wild. In addition to leaked photos of the Pixel 5, specs for the device have also been revealed, pointing to a device with a 90Hz display, 8GB of RAM, and a Snapdragon 765G processor. The Pixel 5 is also expected to come equipped with a dual-camera setup, but instead of a secondary telephoto lens, reports claim the device will feature a wide-angle lens. Having a wide-angle lens is great for taking pictures of landscapes, allowing users to capture much more of a scene.
In addition to the Pixel 5, Google is also expected to reveal more details about the Pixel 4a 5G, which, as the name suggests, will support 5G. Google previously teased the Pixel 4a 5G at a starting price of $499, with rumors claiming the device will feature a larger display compared to the Pixel 4a.

Google is also expected to unveil an Android TV dongle reportedly called “Google Chromecast with Google TV.” We brought you an exclusive first look at the device all the way back in June, and since then, there has been a flood of leaks. When the device launches, it’s expected to carry a price tag of just $49.
As for the smart speaker mentioned in Google’s invite, that device passed through the FCC over the summer. The speaker looks to be a larger version of the Nest Mini. It features a more oblong shape — almost HomePod-esque — and will reportedly feature larger speaker drivers compared to the original Google Home. In addition to a leak at the FCC, Google shared a photo and video of the mysterious speaker, showing two of the devices paired up to create a stereo listening experience.
